Tirich Mir 7708 M Expedition 2025 - 2026 / Saltoro Summits Pakistan
Tirich Mir, the tallest peak in the Hindu Kush range, stands as a formidable natural wonder. Towering above its surroundings, it was first successfully ascended in 1950 by a Norwegian expedition led by Arne Naess, accompanied by P. Kvernberg, H. Berg, and Tony Streather.
Visible from Chitral’s main bazaar and even parts of Afghanistan, Tirich Mir carries an aura of mystique. Local folklore claims the mountain is inhabited by supernatural beings like jinns, demons, witches, and fairies, making its ascent a daunting and mythical endeavor.
The last settlement before reaching Tirich Mir is the village of Tirich in the Mulkow region of Chitral. Here, locals, fluent in Khowar, serve as porters and guides, providing invaluable support to trekkers navigating the challenging terrain.

- Day 1: Arrival at Islamabad International Airport. Transfer to hotel. Overnight stay.
- Day 2: Islamabad to Chitral. Early morning drive, overnight in hotel.
- Day 3: Chitral to Shagrom. Drive and overnight in camp.
- Day 4: Shagrom to Sherniak (3540m). 5–6 hrs trek, overnight in camp.
- Day 5–6: Sherniak to Shoghor (Baisum). 6–7 hrs trek, overnight in camps.
- Day 7: Shoghor (Baisum) to Tirich Mir Base Camp (4724m). 6–7 hrs trek, overnight in camp.
- Day 8–34: Climbing period towards Tirich Mir Summit (weather & fitness dependent).
- Day 35–36: Trek back from Tirich Mir Base Camp to Shagrom. Overnight in camps.
- Day 37: Shagrom to Chitral. Drive and overnight in hotel.
- Day 39: Chitral to Islamabad. Drive and overnight in hotel.
- Day 40: Departure. Transfer to Islamabad International Airport for onward destination. End of services.
