Spantik Base Camp Trek
Rising to 7,027 m (23,054 ft), Spantik — also called the “Golden Peak” — glows amber at sunrise and sunset, casting its spell over the entire Shigar Valley. The Spantik Base Camp Trek offers a perfect blend of gentle alpine walking, Baltistan’s welcoming culture, and magnificent Karakoram scenery.
This route begins from the historic town of Skardu and leads through fruit orchards, summer pastures, and wild glacial landscapes to the base of Spantik. Compared with many Karakoram expeditions, this trek is relatively moderate, making it an excellent choice for hikers seeking a high-altitude adventure without extreme technical challenges.

- Day 1: Arrival at Benazir International Airport and transfer to hotel. Overnight in hotel.
- Day 2: Briefing at Alpine Club of Pakistan, Islamabad. Drive to Chilas via Silk Route along the Indus River. Overnight in Chilas.
- Day 3: Drive to Skardu. Overnight at hotel.
- Day 4: Jeep drive to Arandu village via Shigar Valley and Basha River ravine. Overnight in tents.
- Day 5: Trek from Arandu to Chogo Brangsa. Overnight in tents.
- Day 6: Trek along Chogo Lungma Glacier to Bolocho Glacier. Overnight in tents.
- Day 7: Trek to Spantik Base Camp. Overnight in tents.
- Day 8: Rest or exploration day at Spantik Base Camp. Overnight in tents.
- Day 9–11: Trek back to Arandu village. Overnight in tents.
- Day 12: Drive to Skardu. Overnight in hotel.
- Day 13: Flight to Islamabad (if weather permits). Otherwise, drive to Chilas. Overnight in hotel.
- Day 14: Drive to Islamabad. Overnight in hotel.
- Day 15: Transfer to Islamabad Airport for departure. End of services.
